4. OPEN MIC / OPEN MINDS
Hang out in Davenport lounge, listen to live (acoustic) music, and talk about what climate change and sustainability means to you. Also help promote the national Unplug America campaign (www.ienearth.org) organized by the Indigenous Environmental Network since 1992.

What: Casey Tree Foundation is donating seven trees to be planted around the Mann playgrounds (and one near the trailer), so that students and the community will have better shade in the future.

9. Solar DECATHLON 2007
The solar village houses and educational exhibits will be open to the
public daily from Friday, October 12 through Saturday, October 20,
except that the houses will be closed for competition purposes on
Wednesday, October 17. The solar village will be constructed between
10th Street and 14th street, and between Madison Drive and Jefferson
Drive on the Mall.

10. Dalai Lama will be making a free and public address on the west lawn of the Capitol on October 17th at 2:30PM. He will be receiving the Congressional Gold Medal from Speaker Pelosi, Congressional leadership and the U.S. President in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda at 1:00. This will be simulcast on a jumbotron onto the West Lawn of the Capitol. From 11:00 – 1:00, Tibetan dance, opera and song troupes from all over America, will be performing and many of the highest lamas and Rimpoches from around the world will be attending. Picnic anyone?
